This is a great starter video for those who are contemplating getting into portraits. The techniques do not require a lot of equipment, and they are presented in an easy-to-understand format. Concepts were well isolated, eliminating possible conflicts of technique application. I enjoyed this video, even though I have shot for a long time, as I found clear explanations for the procedures I already apply to my own images. I shoot a lot of natural history subjects, not just portraits, but the knowledge and awareness of light on the subject is well referenced in this video. Sometimes I even have wildlife or flora to shoot in a studio situation. This instruction also lends to the best lighting for those as well. A thumbs-up for Joe on this one. Close
