L-478DR: Updating the PocketWizard MiniTT1/FlexTT5 firmware and setting a transmitting radio to use with the meter

  • PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 radios must be upgraded to the latest firmware to work with the Sekonic L-478DR. Firmware upgrades are performed using the PocketWizard Utility (see download instructions below). Using the PocketWizard Utility, click on “Check for Updates” and follow the directions presented.

  • To ensure the L-478DR is exclusively controlling the power level of remote flashes, the on-camera MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 should be set to “No Change (Trigger Only)” mode. This will allow the meter to be the master power controller, and make sure the camera triggers the remote flashes but does not change their power levels.

Using the PocketWizard Utility, follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Advanced Mode” check box located on the bottom left to reveal all available options and tabs
  2. Select the FLASH tab
  3. In the SPEEDLIGHT section, click the drop down and select “No Change (Trigger Only)
  4. Click “Apply Changes” to set the radio.
