Service for USA Sold Prodigi Color C-500 and Prodigi Color C-500R Color Meters

Sekonic strives to use only the highest-quality parts and assemblies when building our products. However, even with the best quality control a condition that takes many months to develop cannot be detected.

Sekonic has discovered that one of the photo sensors in the Sekonic C-500 and C-500R is starting to deteriorate and will eventually affect the accuracy of the reading. While the deterioration has not progressed enough to make a noticeable difference, Sekonic is contacting owners of these meters to replace the affected parts and recalibrate them.

Affected serial numbers:

  • C-500 (FCC Version): Serial numbers up to JS12 000591
  • C-500R (FCC Version): Serial numbers up to JS22 000502

In order to assure the fastest service, we are setting up an appointment schedule to enable us to offer you a 2-business day turnaround of your meter. Contact MAC Group, Sekonic’s service center in the United States, to obtain a service appointment time and UPS shipping label for the return to MAC Group. Then carefully pack your Sekonic C-500/C-500R and use the provided UPS label to ship it to MAC Group at the assigned time.

When it arrives at MAC, they will replace the sensor and recalibrate your meter. Your meter will be returned by UPS at no charge to you.
